Favorite Summer Pieces

What have you been wearing all summer?  This summer has been much different from last for me- especially when it comes to my wardrobe.  The whole not-being-pregnant thing gives me so many more options. :)  Here is what I have been going back to again and again this summer for my casual mom-on-the go look:

My white skinny Bermudas (chopped off AE cropped jeans)

My R&R Victoria Beckham jeans that I added lace to in the torn knee

My v-neck boyfriend tees from Target

Cropped tees
(here are some that I love but don't own)

Layered Bracelets:

 these are from Forever 21

Fridge Organization

Fitting it all in – making the most of your fridge space

Do you find that there is never enough room in your fridge or freezer to fit
everything in? You get home from the weekly shop and there is just no logical way
of getting everything you’ve bought into the chilled area. Even a team of NASA
scientists, working around the clock, wouldn’t be able to work this one out. It simply
can’t be done. So, you find yourself on the sofa eating a half tub of ice cream from
the freezer in order to create some room – we believe you, that’s the only reason!

The solution

Obviously, you’ve got lots of hungry mouths to feed, so you can’t really buy any
fewer provisions. You could buy more tins and ambient goods, but it’s important
to eat as much fresh fruit, veg, meat and dairy as possible. Help is at hand, though,
as there is one other solution. If the mountain won’t come to Mohammad, then
Mohammad must go to the mountain, to use a well-known phrase. In other words,
maybe it’s time you got a new fridge or freezer with more space.

These days, modern fridges, freezers and combined units are much bigger and more
spacious than ever before. They’re also much more efficient than older models,
which is good news for the environment and your electricity bill. You can even opt
for American-style fridge freezers that are wider and taller than ordinary stacked
units if you really want to maximise your storage potential.

What’s in a name?

When it comes to buying fridges and freezers, there are certain names that you can
really trust to deliver quality and excellence. Beko fridge freezers are consistentlyvoted as some of the best on the market. They are a well-established brand that’s
not going to let you down. They’re also designed to be as space-conscious as
possible – they know just how hard it can be to cram in all of the family’s weekly
food shop.

So, if you’re tired of having to rearrange everything each time you make a trip to the
shops, maybe you need something that can accommodate all your needs without
the fuss. Upgrade your fridge, freezer or both to a Beko, and see what a difference it
can make.

Favorite Cleaning Pins

As I mentioned before, I have been in a cleaning/organizing mood and my Spring cleaning has just begun a little late this year.  I can't believe how many awesome cleaning tips there are on Pinterest, and I just have to share my favorites with you.

#1: Using Fabric Softener Sheets to Clean Baseboards

#2: Solving Toothbrush Problems:

Keeping toothbrushes in silverware trays

Cleaning the toothbrush holder with Alkaseltzer then keeping a paper towel at the bottom and switching it out every so often.

#3: Use a towel soaked in fabric softener as a dryer sheet

Don't use this for loads of laundry that can possibly have static issues- it isn't the best static preventer.

Also, to get the whitest whites:  add bleach and baking soda to your loads and let them sit overnight.

#4: Homemade Oxiclean

This stuff works awesome!  I let it sit on some stains overnight and it really got them out!

#5: Mattress Cleaner

The last and FAVORITE one I have tried:

#6: Tub and Shower Cleaner (and clean your microwave while you are at it)

This stuff is awesome.  I use it all over the bathroom and the kitchen!!!  I used Palmolive rather than Dawn and it works just as good!

So go get cleaning!

Favorite Things Friday

I am thinking about maybe starting up Favorite Things Friday again...any opinions on that?

Today I want to share what my favorite things are right now because even though I have been bored out of my mind this last week, life is SO GOOD.

1. Looking at the Humor section of Pinterest late at night when I am tired and everything is hilarious to me.

2. The new Goodwill literally 2 minutes away from my apartment.  I have bought SO many things there already and spent probably just over $50 for all of it.  Plus, it is SUPER clean.

3. Watching Allie and Macsen together.  They just love each other SO much!  It is SO cute!

4. This gal's blog.  She is funny, has awesome hair and beauty tips, and a really fun style.

5.I just got my turquoise bubble necklace and I am in love.  There are so many outfits I can wear it with- the possibilities are endless! haha

What are your favorite things this Friday?

Burt's Bees for Baby

I was so excited to be able to review a product for the new line: BURT’S BEES BABY, "an exciting and pivotal evolution of the iconic Burt’s Bees brand.  Burt’s Bees Baby will be the world’s first brand focusing on the well-being of babies and mothers, initially launching with a collection of newborn essentials and apparel -- exclusively with earth-friendly organic products and practices and all at accessible price points. Burt’s Bees Baby will eventually expand into home and lifestyle."

Burt's Bees Baby sent me a sweet little receiving blanket- the "Precious Allover Bee Blanket" from Burt's Bees Baby Fall 2012 Collection.  The blanket is made of 100% organic cotton and is priced at $16.

The thing I love most about this blanket is how soft it is.  I love that it can be used in the summer and winter, and I love the hood on it that helps keep the baby swaddled better.  Even though Macsen is too big to be swaddled with it now, I love wrapping it around him when I nurse him and laying it on top of him in his crib.  I also love the sweet, neutral print on it (little baby blue bees-that's a mouthful)

Burt’s Bees Baby is now available in-store at Target and at Target.com

Burt's Bees Baby will be available on www.burtsbeesbaby.com as of October 2012 and will be available in-store and online at the following locations this Summer
