Cozy Up Your Home for the Holidays

When getting your home decked out and ready for the holidays we always think to do the obvious things, like decorating, lighting some scented candles, and baking some Christmas goodies while listening to Christmas music.  However, I have a few things that you might not have thought of to help your home feel even more cozy and ready for holidays and company.

1. Blakets, Blankets, Blankets!

Last year we received a very soft, minky throw that we kept on the couch and it rarely wasn't being used- either by us or by our company!  Since then, I try to keep really comfy throws on every couch and extra blankets around the house where we sit.

2. Rug pads

You would be surprised what a little more cushion under your feet will do!  I was able to review 3 rug pads from Rug Pad Corner and when they arrived I looked at them and thought, "these can't make much of a difference," but I was wrong!  The Ultra Premium has been great under my main living room rug and kitchen rug, and the Super Hold has kept my entry rug in place as people step into our home and wipe off their shoes. Right now you can get 15% off with code REVIEW15.   They also donate a portion of the proceeds from every order to a charitable cause and customers choose the organization- very cool and helpful at this time of year.

3. Clean Carpets and Couches

I recently bought a carpet cleaner and WOW does it make a difference to have clean carpets.  Not only do they look newer, but just to know that they are clean and that the baby is crawling on clean floors gives me peace of mind.  I can also use it to clean couches- a HUGE deal when you have kids that spill EVERYTHING!  haha!

4. A Clean Kitchen

Think about it- where do you spend the most time during the holidays and when you have family over?  The kitchen, right?  Just your normal, everyday kitchen cleaning won't cut it- wiping down everything and cleaning out your fridge is a good start and makes a huge difference.  I would also suggest cleaning the oven and microwave before cooking for company.

And, of course, don't forget the things we always want to do first, like decorating and lighting a holiday candle ;)
